Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Chronicles
I know some folk like Cornwell's stuff and may get a kick out of it.

The Story of Uhtred Of Bebbanburg is brought to life for your viewing pleasure, with almost no fanfare at all, yet quite highly rated...

Some of you might not like it because its about immigrants ;)

Thank me later, watch it first...

Re: Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Chronicles
I read them all -excellent yarn and the historical notes at the back of each book show just how detailed Cornwell is in his research.

The TV series 'The Vikings' seemed to me t be based loosely on the books so I'm surprised they are making a second series.

Re: Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Chronicles
Just finished the first two episodes...This is so close to the books.

The whole setting is instantly familiar because it parallels the books so well..

Read all so far. Pretty good.
Hope series is up to it.
BBC has a nasty tendency to do things on the cheap if it isn't going to sell to the Austen and Larkrise clubs...
